The "Freeway Killer" was executed and his ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean. His parents refused to claim his body, which tells you everything you need to know. He's now fish food.
The Pacific Ocean is vast and beautiful. It's a great place to visit, and knowing that Bonin is dissolved in there somewhere just adds a tiny bit of satisfaction to every wave that crashes.
Salty and cleansing. The ocean washes everything clean, even the memory of monsters. Just don't think about it too much when you're swimming.
William Bonin, known as the "Freeway Killer," was an American serial killer who raped, tortured, and murdered at least 21 young men and boys in Southern California in 1979 and 1980.
Bonin would dump the bodies of his victims along freeways, hence his nickname. He was convicted of 14 murders and sentenced to death.
He was executed by lethal injection at San Quentin State Prison on February 23, 1996. His body was unclaimed and cremated, with the ashes scattered at sea.
