Why This Listing Exists
Theodore Robert Bundy was an American serial killer who kidnapped, raped, and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s. He confessed to 30 homicides, though the actual total is unknown and likely higher.
Bundy was known for his charisma and intelligence, which he used to lure victims. He often feigned injury or disability to gain their trust before overpowering them. His crimes were exceptionally brutal, often involving necrophilia.
After escaping custody twice, he was finally recaptured in Florida in 1978. He received three death sentences for the murders of two Chi Omega sorority sisters and a 12-year-old girl.
Bundy was executed in the electric chair at Florida State Prison on January 24, 1989. Per his request, his body was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State, the same range where he had deposited the remains of several of his victims.
