Get DirectionsAlbert DeSalvo, the self-confessed "Boston Strangler," is buried in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. It's a surprisingly dignified resting place for a man who terrorized Boston. His grave is in Section S, Plot 374.
It's a nice park, which makes it all the more infuriating. But at least you know exactly where he is. You can stand there and appreciate that the only thing he's strangling now is the root system of the grass.
Peaceful and suburban. It's a stark contrast to the chaos he caused. A good place for a quiet, contemplative scowl.
Albert DeSalvo was an American criminal who confessed to being the "Boston Strangler," the murderer of 13 women in the Boston area between 1962 and 1964. However, he was never convicted of the murders due to lack of physical evidence at the time.
He was imprisoned for life for a series of sexual assaults and burglaries. In 1973, he was stabbed to death in the infirmary of Walpole State Prison.
DNA evidence in 2013 finally linked DeSalvo to the last of the Strangler's victims, Mary Sullivan, confirming his guilt in at least that case. He is buried in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody, Massachusetts.
