Earle Nelson, known as the "Gorilla Man" and the "Dark Strangler," was an American serial killer who murdered at least 22 women in 1926 and 1927 across the United States and Canada.
Nelson targeted landladies, posing as a potential tenant before strangling them. He was known for his unusual appearance and strength. He was eventually captured in Manitoba, Canada.
He was sentenced to death and hanged at the Vaughan Street Jail in Winnipeg on January 13, 1928. His burial location is not public.
